Enjoyable hike for beginners and epicureans up the local mountain of Gstaad, the Eggli, which is known for it's gastronomic delights. When the mountain railway is open, most of the meters of climing can be saved and, above all, a fine meal can be enjoyed in the Eggli Lounge. A stopover is well worth it. First we go to the sports centre in Gstaad, where we could also finish the hike later in the warm water. From the sports centre, the trail zigzags through forests and pastures up to Eggli at an altitude of around 520m. The path is varied and winds slowly but steadily higher and higher. There are only a few views. But there are many changes in the vegetation. Beautiful views await you on the Eggli and in spring and autumn you can stop off at the Eggli Lounge. After the well-deserved refreshment, the trail descends slowly and steadily over a ridge of the Eggli to Saanen. The views towards Eggli and Gastlosen Ketten are beautiful. In Saanen you can either take the train or the post bus back to Gstaad or hike leisurely along the Saane river.
