Enjoy a fondue with a view of Gstaad.

From the Gstaad train station or the Gstaad promenade you can reach the Fondue Caquelon at the cheese grotto in about 45 minutes. Follow the Gstaad - Bissen - Turbach hiking trail. It can accommodate up to eight people and cannot be reserved.

Another option is to take public transport from Gstaad on post bus route 182, Gstaad - Turbach, as far as the "Bissenegg" stop. Walk the last 100 metres to the cheese grotto.


Access with bike or mountainbike is possible.
If coming by car, drive from Gstaad towards the Wasserngrat valley station. At the "Käsegrotte" signpost turn left. Navigation device: Bissenstrasse 83, 3780 Gstaad.

Equipment
The Fondue Backpack (order the fondue backpack the day before during the opening hours of any of the following dairies: Schönried Dairy, Fromage & Pain Saanen, Gstaad Dairy, Zweisimmen Dairy), good footwear, beverages.

The Fondue Backpack contains all of the ingredients needed for the irresistible outdoor experience: a full set of preparation equipment, either a traditional thick fondue or a particularly flavoursome truffle fondue, as well as crusty fondue bread, spices, fondue pot, warmer, plates and forks.

Tip of the author
After your fondue, do pay a visit to the cheese grotto where over 3,000 cheeses are stored. You should register your visit with the Molkerei Gstaad the day before.
