The toboggan run from Sparenmoos to Heimchueweid first takes you across meadows and then through forests, starting off level and then becoming steeper and winding.
Sparenmoos is located on a plateau above Zweisimmen and is 1,640 metres above sea level. This high moorland area is considered to be a landscape of national importance with its multitude of scenic gems.
Take the bus from the Zweisimmen train station to the starting point near the Berghotel Sparenmoos. On the first part of this toboggan run you have continual views of the Simmental valley. The route takes you across snow-covered meadows and through wooded areas. Since it is not very steep between the starting point and Heimchueweid it is suitable for families. From here a bus takes you back to the start or to the village of Zweisimmen.

Tip of the author
If there is a lot of snow, the Sparenmoos Run is extended 2.6km to Zweisimmen. The extension is moderately difficult and winding. It is almost entirely in the forest. When you arrive at the Obegg bus stop, you can either take the bus or walk back to the station - or take the bus back up to the start. Footpath of approx. 1 km from the Obegg bus stop (end of the toboggan run) to the station (alternatively, there is also a bus).

Due to the limited number of parking spaces, we recommend parking at the train station in Zweisimmen and then taking the bus.
Getting There
The Destination Gstaad is located in the south-west of Switzerland right on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The Destination is easily accessed by rail or car from the regions around Lake Thun and Lake Geneva and the Gruyere region Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant journey. The main means of transport in the destination of Gstaad are the "MOB" (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) train and numerous post bus lines.
